Shoe4Africa 5k

Laurel continued to tear up the local running scene by winning the Shoe4Africa 5k in Riverside Park yesterday.  Not only did she win, but she ran a personal record of 17:39.  For those of you who don't know running times, that's fast...especially for someone who was a Division-I college swimmer and a cancer survivor.  Check Laurel out in the photo below, wearing her Nike Livestrong colors and racing the boys.  This was the first race for the Shoe4Africa ( organization, so it was for a good cause AND it took place on the final mile of the Ironman NYC run course.  Fast running will win that race too!
