Athlete Moms: Empire State Building Run-Up

The Empire State Building Run-Up is a race I've always wanted to do. Last night, I got a little bit closer to it - not as a participant, but as support crew and photographer for Sarah. She participated in the race for fun and for research for an upcoming story on stair climbing races...and she managed to finish second in the media division. Stair racing champ (and former track star) from Australia, Suzy Walsham, won the women's professional race for the fifth time, setting a new race record in the process.

I'll let Sarah fill you in on the race details of this grueling race, but for now here are a few pictures from the evening. --Bec

The race finished inside this year because the observation deck was closed due to falling ice.
