Power Snack Contest: Win Chia Charger Nut Butters

We’re not big on Valentine’s Day. The last time one of us ventured out à deux on the 14th, there was heart-shaped glitter on the table. It took a lot of willpower not to ask the sommelier for crayons. 

But we’re so excited about the launch of Athlete Food, so thrilled to have gathered a few readers (thank you!), that this year we’ll celebrate Valentine’s Day with the coupling of two of our favorite things: competition and Chia Charger BeKind Nut Butters. Here are the details:

The competition: Tell us about your favorite power snack by commenting below before midnight on February 13th, 2012. (United States residents only, please.) Athlete Food will pick the entry that we would be most likely to add to our repertoire.

The prize: Chia Charger, one of our sponsors, will send the winner two tubs of BeKind Nut Butters and a few packs of Chia Chargers energy bites.

Can we post comments to this post? Seems easier. I like to have peanut butter on whole wheat bread (4 pieces) and then a Greek yogurt (Chobani) with Grape Nuts mixed into the container.

I like Brendan Braziers Banana cocoa pudding. In the food processor: dates, banana, coconut oil, carob or cocoa powder, sometimes I"ll throw some cocoa nibs in it, ground flax (or you could put chia in it), splash of lemon juice and a pinch of salt

Strong coffee and peanut butter and honey on toast. I'd use chia charger pb if I win!

I love peanut butter + oatmeal + banana with maybe raisins and walnuts. If it's post-workout, add a huge glass of milk. And if I remember to, I always add cinnamon!

My favorite is frozen cherries (cherries are said to have anti-inflammatory properties) blended in my Blendtec with some Vahlrona cocoa powder, whole flaxseeds, and Ronnybrook chocolate milk. I use this as a recovery drink.

If hitting the gym for a run/swim, then a cranberry-orange scone & coffee. If riding home from work I drop by the administrative segregation wing of the prison I work at & bogart 1/2 a food loaf bar that is given to inmates as a form of punishment that are actually pretty decent.
